Scale your team. Not your costs.

GeneWorks is structured around how you work. Whether you're a solo developer exploring the platform or a global enterprise running multiple ServiceNow instances — there's a plan built for you.

All plans include unlimited Update Sets, 100% ATF coverage, and our own test runner — so you never buy a separate ATF cloud-runner license.

02FAQ

Common questions.

Everything you need to know before getting started.

Do I need to install anything on my ServiceNow instance?

No. GeneWorks connects to your ServiceNow instance via the standard ServiceNow REST API. There is no scoped application to install, no MID Server required, and no custom plugins. Setup takes under 60 seconds in the Settings panel — just your instance URL and access credentials.

Does GeneWorks work on PDIs (Personal Developer Instances)?

Yes. GeneWorks works on any ServiceNow instance with REST API access — PDIs, development instances, UAT environments, and production. The Developer plan is specifically designed for single-instance usage on a PDI.

Do I need ServiceNow's ATF cloud runner (CloudRunner)?

No. Running ATF tests remotely normally means buying ServiceNow's ATF cloud-runner license. GeneWorks built its own runner, so it executes ATF — server and client — at no extra license cost. And it goes further: live-browser functional testing runs alongside ATF, so you get UI-level coverage too, included in every plan.

Can GeneWorks accidentally overwrite or break things on my production instance?

No. GeneWorks operates under a strict Impact Analysis governance model. Every task is risk-scored before execution. High-impact changes halt the pipeline entirely and require explicit human sign-off. All changes are packaged into reversible, named Update Sets — so if anything looks wrong, you simply don't commit the Update Set. Nothing is deployed to production without your approval.

What ServiceNow modules and releases does GeneWorks support?

GeneWorks currently supports ITSM, ITOM, Platform Administration, and Integrations across all active ServiceNow releases (Washington, Xanadu, Yokohama). CSM and HRSD support are in active development. GeneWorks agents are release-aware and apply version-appropriate configurations and best practices automatically.

Where is my ServiceNow data processed?

GeneWorks communicates directly with your ServiceNow instance via authenticated REST API calls. Your credentials are stored locally on your machine and are never transmitted to GeneWorks servers. For Enterprise and Managed Services plans, data processing and residency agreements are available as part of the commercial arrangement.

How quickly can we be up and running?

Most teams are running their first automated task within 20 minutes of setup. You provide your instance URL and access credentials in Settings — Gene connects, verifies the instance, and is ready to build. No onboarding process, no professional services engagement required for the Developer and Enterprise plans.
